Jeannie Pitt
B&Q Foundation Manager
Jeannie manages the daily operations and ensures the smooth running of the Foundation.
With a solid background in fundraising, she has extensive experience working in corporate partnerships and community fundraising at Shelter and Cancer Research UK. It’s this range of experience that make her precisely the right woman for the job.
Jeannie is currently studying for a Post Graduate Certificate in Philanthropy, Grant Making and Social Investment at Bayes Business School.

Julie Turnbull
B&Q Foundation Accountant
Julie is a chartered accountant and is responsible for the day-to-day financial management and control of the Foundation.
She brings a wealth of financial experience and strong financial management skills gained from working for over 20 years as an Accounts Manager in an accountancy practice. She has worked with a wide range of businesses but most recently has focused on smaller owner managed businesses across multiple sectors.
She is delighted to transfer her skills to ensure the secure financial governance of the Foundation’s finances and regulatory compliance, and to make a meaningful positive difference to local communities.

Catherine Burge
Trustee (Chair)
Catherine has been the Finance Change Director for Kingfisher since 2021, where she is transforming the Finance function through driving effectiveness and efficiency.
Catherine joined B&Q in 2001 and has worked in a variety of senior roles across Finance and Transformation. She joined the B&Q board in 2017 as Transformation Director.
Prior to joining B&Q, she also worked for the Save the Children Fund for 7 years working in the Finance function and also working in Somalia, Liberia and Head Office. These experiences really drove her desire to make a positive difference. Therefore, the B&Q Foundation’s role in supporting charities that help people feel safe and secure, connects strongly with Catherine.
Catherine’s strong track record in Finance, Governance and Change means she is the ideal trustee to chair the trustee board and lead the Governance workstream.

Vicki Bryce
Trustee
Vicki joined B&Q in 2015 and currently works in project management, delivering e-commerce improvements. Prior to this, she spent 5 years within the B&Q operational finance team.
A qualified accountant, Vicki started her career at EY where she trained as an external auditor for 10 years.
Vicki has a strong passion for helping our future generations driven by personal experiences. The B&Q Foundation belief that ‘Everyone needs a place to feel at home’ resonates strongly with her. Her finance expertise and background in processes & controls, makes her the perfect Trustee to ensure the Foundation’s financial governance is sound, creating a strong financial base to help those in need.

Paul Crisp
Trustee
Paul joined B&Q’s board as Retail and Property Director in 2017.
With a wealth of over 30 years’ retail experience in both the field and central teams, Paul has an established track record of leading people to deliver strong results through change.
His passion for people and great causes drives his work for the B&Q Foundation. He’s the perfect person to lead the Fundraising workstream and has led from the front by raising significant sums through completing the Yorkshire 3 peaks challenge.

Andy Moat
Trustee
Andy has been People Director at B&Q since re-joining B&Q in 2018. He previously worked for B&Q from 2001-2012 in a variety of Strategy & HR roles.
Prior to re-joining B&Q, Andy was People Director at Wagamama and then Director of HR at Screwfix.
Andy’s passion for serving the B&Q Foundation is driven by his strong belief in ‘Everyone needs a place to feel at home’ combined with a strong sense of responsibility that B&Q as a big employer in the UK should be a making a social contribution in the communities we work in as part of our Responsible Business Strategy
His role and passion make him the ideal Trustee to ensure that the B&Q Foundation story is widely shared across B&Q.

Anna Peters
Trustee
Anna is a retail colleague at B&Q. She has worked across multiple departments and stores but is currently on secondment to the Communities Team where she co-ordinates colleague fundraising and volunteer projects.
Before joining B&Q Anna spent 15 years working for not-for-profits which focused on engaging hard to reach young adults, social enterprises, and community cohesion.
Anna is also a Winston Churchill Fellow, funded to research Community TimeBanks in America.
It’s the ambition to improve the places people call “home” that drives her connection to the B&Q Foundation. Whether they are the places where people sleep or whether they are the places people feel most comfortable.

Aleah Truscott
Trustee
Aleah is currently the Showrooms Manager at B&Q St Austell. She has also taken on other roles including the community charity champion, people’s forum and has been part of the apprenticeship program. It’s this never-ending drive that led her to be the Trustee committing to represent the voice of the stores.
Previous to B&Q, Aleah worked for an independent company selling a wide variety of items at Local Markets and Trade Shows. She has served as a parent governor and PTA chair, supported fundraising for the St Austell Mayor, been a Parent Befriender with Face 2 Face and served on the Parent Carer Council for Cornwall.
The B&Q Foundation is close to Aleah’s heart. From her own experiences, she knows even the smallest amount of support can have a massive impact on both people’s homes and lives.

Simon Hewett-Avison
Trustee
Simon has spent over 12 years in the charity sector working at Teenage Cancer Trust, Shine and Independent Age, having previously worked across both private and public sectors. He has experience across health, education and social care and has particular interest in mental health, social isolation and loneliness.
Simon has been a trustee of several charities and is currently Vice-Chair of Daybreak who provide unique social and therapeutic respite days for people living with dementia, helping couples stay together at home and delaying or avoiding residential care.
Simon wholeheartedly believes in what the B&Q Foundation is looking to achieve. It’s his specialised experience that make him an invaluable trustee in shaping the future grant making programme and matters of governance.

Antony Purnell
Trustee
Antony runs a consultancy specialising in customer led strategy. He supports a wide range of businesses ranging from start-ups to large retailers; operating across multiple sectors, including retail, leisure, B2B and charity.
Before moving into consulting, Antony spent 19 years working for the Kingfisher Group in a variety of roles across Marketing, Finance and Commercial.
Having spent the majority of his career exploring the importance of homes, Antony is strongly aligned to the B&Q Foundation ambition. His strategy, communications and marketing experience make him the ideal trustee to drive the evolution and growth of the Foundation.
